Incubating Humidity ??

MAP Apr 15, 2004 05:26 PM

Does anyone know the "ideal" humidity level for incubating eggs? I've read a lot of discussions on the effects of temperature gradients while incubating, but have not heard anything about specific humidity levels.

I'm currently holding our first time clutch of 10 at 90% (and temps ranging from 76-81.)

Any thoughts? Thanks.

100% humidity is good, as long as water does not drip on the eggs.

I'd raise the temperature to more like 80-85 F.

I appreciate your response. I have bumped up the temp and stabilized it at 82 degrees and humidity at 90-92%. I guess I'll keep it there and wait.

Thanks again.

You can't go wrong with Mr. Hollanders advice. I don't think many people on this forum realize the experience this man has with reptiles. When he talks I definitaly pay attention. Thanks Paul.
