New Urban Gecko female, breed by Alberto of amgecko

JCreptile Apr 15, 2004 07:50 PM

This is going to be my hybino het producing machine. That is as soon as she stops laying eggs that are SHT and i can recuperate her and bring her wait back up and rebreed her (much later this year). Shes from the urban gecko bloodline and was one of alberto's old holdbacks, shes gravid now with alberto's red stallion babies. Shes a beautiful girl and i just felt like sharing.

Well its true you just take a look; the cover sometimes makes the book; and the judges did they ever ask to read between your lines; and your cage at the human zoo they all stop to look at you; next year what will you do when you have been forgotten -Miss America (a song by styx)

Not breeding her again later this year. While I am sure you are anxious to work on your other project, it would be in her best interest if you fattened her up, let her rest and bred her in the spring. Breeding takes a great toll on the females, while she may return to breeding weight by the late fall, her body will still need time to heal and replenish it's supply of calcium. Breeding her again to soon with do more long term harm than you may think.....

Sam thanks for your input, yeah im shooting for a rebreed around december, alberto tells me she eats like a pig and shouldn't be a problem but if so ill just put off until next spring. I refuse to breed most of my females until 60 grams, unless certain cases where i've had females that will eat and eat be almost a year and a half and still hang around at 50-55. I don't like this range unless they are older because theres good chances for becoming egg bound. IN no way do i plan on threatening this females life, she should lay maybe 1 or 2 more clutches and then ill cool her down to stop the egg laying and get her puting on weight again.
