You don't want your turtle fat, most turtles are overweight in captivity. Protein every other day and lots of veggies will insure a nice long life.

He looks fine. How large is HE. If he is larger than 4 inches or so he actually looks like a she. If he is smaller than he may not have developed his male characteristics yet. Overall he looks nice and healthy and in good shape so I wouldn't worry too much about trying to fatten him/her up.

how can you tell from those pics? he is bigger then 4. not sure exactly...maybe 6 or 7 inches. he could very well be a she. i just decided to call it a he. i got it free from a friend about a month ago.

Well if it is 6-7 inches congrats it's a girl!! Call her IgnaciA!!

Males have very long front claws and a long thick tail. They also get to be around 7-9 inches full sized while females go way over 10 or 11 inches.

A really nice animal just be prepared to give her a good sized home as she is gonna put on a few more inches for sure.
