any opinions on red lights for night time heat????
Ceramic heat emiters, the kind that you screw into a light socket. Beardies aren't snakes, they can see the red spectrum. Also dropping to room temp is not a problem for them at night, they can go into the 60s and will be fine.

I prefer ceramic heaters for above or UTH (under tank heater)if you are not using sand and the heat can be transmitted into the tank. You are just trying to keep it warm not basking hot

Unless your night time temps get low (Below 65) I wouldn't worry about night time heating. If anything did have to be used, a heat emitter or under tank heater hooked up to a thermostat would be a better choice.
