Waiting for eggs or maybe disappointment.....

Passport Apr 16, 2004 01:54 PM

My female Brooksi STILL has not layed any eggs. This may be a case of the "watched pot that never boils". But now I've reached the place where I'm wondering if she is too old to breed. She is 6yrs old. The male is 10yrs this summer. After breeding on three different occasions, tieing for hours each time, the female ate 6 mice a week and is hugh. She is restless and in and out of the box. I try not to bother her but she is aware everytime I enter the bldg. where she lives. If she is in the box she will stick her head out. When do I just give up and quit hoping? Maybe she is just fat! She shed her prelay shed two weeks ago.

holy cow, how big is your female? how does she even manage to fit 6 in there without looking and moving like a sausage? Guess I won't worry so much about moving my 48" up from 2 mice to 3 a week.... and good luck, hope she doesn't disappoint you and produces some good eggs
