Panacur and how i worm my geckos!!!!

travisdank Apr 16, 2004 02:31 PM

let me start off by saying this stuff is really safe! By accident i gave one of my sikore enough for a 20lb dog and over a month later he is doing great and eating everything in sight.

Most of my phantasticus weight about 4 or 5 grams. My ebenaui about a gram more. I use the panacur paste. I put some on the side of their mouth and they just lick it off! Beats trying to pry their mouths open! I also add some praziquantel from powdered pills.(same treatment recommeded by Neil in the Reptiles mag. with the Uro. on the cover)

Another note. There is a high calorie dietary supplement paste called Vitacal that i have been treating all my new imports with(along with the panacur and praziquantel) and i have yet to lose any out of the last 30 to 40 animals i have bought. The supplement is for dogs cats kittens and puppies, but appears to be fine for these geckos.

I have found both panacur and praziquantel available without prescriptions. I dont want to post the place here because im unsure of how that would be looked upon. You can email me for the website addy.

Just thought i would share my info. Hope it helps.

Just a note about the vitacal. Its alittle to thick so i add some water to it and administer just a small amount.
