If someone is willing to post a pic, I would love to be able to show off our Easter Present that came to us a few days ago; baby eastern massasaugas. We had two perfect babies, two stillborns, and one slug. What surprised me was that only four days after being born, both babies took a frozen/thawed pinkie....chubby little rattlers! We are converting our administrative office area into a visitor/interpretive center that will feature eastern massasauga conservation complete with live 'saugas, a baby 'sauga nursery for the public to see (kind of like a maternit ward in a hospital), dioramas of the relationship between the 'saugas of Illinois and prairie crayfish and high quality wetlands, current research taking place, etc. Of course, this is all pending a large grant we are trying to obtain.
