What is the best way to tell if your eggs are fertile or not?

The best way would be to incubate them. If it molds over, its infertile. That is the most simple and best way to diagnose fertility. You can also get a heads up bythe way it looks. If it looks likea chalky white, and its firm, its likely to be fertile, if it is yellow-ish and feels like a half filled water ballon, it is most likely infertile. There are just common characteristics, but the best way would be to incubate them anyways and hope for the best.

They are incubating, but was just wondering. This will be our first time trying to hatch eggs. My children look into the window of the incubator everyday now. I sure hope at least one hatches or I'm going to have some mad children..lol

you can hold a flashlight up to the back of them and if you can see red and veins they are fertile....I think it takes a week or so for the veins to show up though.
