Can anyone ID my lizard???

milo_rocks Apr 16, 2004 08:11 PM

Hello.... I bought my first lizard about 2 weeks ago at a local petshop... the man who sold ot to me gave me no information on it at all, other than what to feed it. He is about 6 inches, tail included. His head is kind of flat and his mouth comes to a point. He is skinny and has skinny legs and a long skinny tail. His tongue is light pink and he changes colors. He goes from a dark brown color to a bright green with blue circles around his eyes. He can jump, but not very far. He eats crickets, but only once every few days. He has small beady eyes and tiny claws that you can barely feel. If anyone can help me identify this lizard, I'd be forever greatful. Thanks.

Thanks so much. Milo and I appreciate it. Yes, the petstore did suck... the man who owns it is senile and doesn't know anything. Thanks again!!

thats an anole.

Definitely a green anole--my recommendation would be to read up on its care requirements ASAP, or you're going to lose the little guy. Reptiles are not an inexpensive hobby. Not because of the cost of the animals, but because of the cost of the equipment required to keep them healthy. You need to know a whole lot more than simply what to feed them.

It's an Anole, or also called the Amercan Chameleon.
