I'm thinking about getting a Uromastyx. Can anyone refer me to places to research how to care for them.

I am not new to lizard keeping and know some basics about them in the wild at least. Also opinions on different species would be welcome.

Welcome to the Uro forum. Here is a very good place to start, Deer Fern Farms, here is there uromastyx care sheet !

http://www.deerfernfarms.com/Uromastyx_Care.htm

While your there you should look around at the many beautiful species. And choose for yourself

I personally have a female Egyptian and a male Saharan. Like them both. The Egyptian is dog tame as they say, but the Saharan has outstanding color (orange)

Good luck with your quest, hehehehe, let us know what you decide on and pictues are always NICE,

I also was going to recommend Deerfernfarms. I have purchased many from them and am quite pleased .

as far as species...some of the biggest differences I have noticed is either one...colorings are very different between them. And 2...egyptians get fairly large so you may want to make sure on the size you are looking for. Some have different temperments than others but all are awsome . Just read all about them on the deer fern farms site and it will tell you alot of the differences as far as temperments etc.

I personally now own 2 Mali's and 2 ornates.
Good luck!
REnee
