Incubation mistake, help?

DaGeckoGuy Apr 17, 2004 07:38 AM

Long story short my incubator jumped up to 95 before i caught it, I am lowering it now.. have any of you had eggs survive a short period over 90? I know in the wild they HAVE to have temp drops and rises...

I just dont want to loose 14 eggs im so worried...

I have learned from power outages and such "disasters" that everything is cicumstantial it depends how long the eggs were at the temp, the humidity level, many other things. Your right eggs in the wild arent pampered like the ones we incubate. Im not sure on the high but I know 89-90 is incubatable but higher depends. Id keep doing exactly what your doing keep a better eye on the incubator and wish for the best... Good luck and keep us posted.

95 is the upper temp limit according to the leopard gecko manual...you could actually incubate at 95 by youll have a high mortality rate...

eggs in the wild also dont have a high hatch rate due to temperature fluctuations, predators, flooding, etc.

Like stated above, its all circumstantial...although, ive had a few that have jumped and dropped, and made it just fine. It all depends. Just lower the temp, and wait and see.

Good luck
