Wisconsin Reptiles use of other peoples images to represent their animals

ChrisAnderson Apr 17, 2004 11:20 AM

I am posting to inform potential buyers that Wisconsin Reptiles, in their classified add linked below, has stollen photographs from www.adcham.com, smugged the name of the photographer off the photo and claimed it as their own. Susan James, the photographer and owner of the animal has confirmed it has been done without permission. This is a federal crime punishable by up to $100,000 per violation. I would recommend that these individuals be made very aware of the fact that people will not stand for these types of actions and that kingsnake should not support these illegal actions. Just FYI

To finish off the thread, I wanted to let people know the add has not been removed and I was emailed by Wisconsin Reptiles with the following message:

"Chris,

Thanks for the information. A staff member of ours who has been recently dismissed was in charge of our internet ads. We let him go earlier this week becuase of similar problems.

I'll make sure that the ad is removed immediatly. Please relay my apologies to Ms. James. Let her know that it won't happen again.

Thanks again,

Ryan, Proprietor
WI Reptiles"

Thanks to WI Reptiles for the quick attention to the matter.

Chris
