BIGGER CAGE = BIGGER SNAKE?

SouthFLBoa Apr 17, 2004 12:11 PM

I was told by a couple times by employees at a couple of my local herp stores that if you have a python or boa in a small snake for a while it will grow slower. If you give it a big cage to start off with it will grow much faster. Is this true? I don't believe this~I'm not a gullable person, but I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks

No - not even really true with fish. Too many other factors play in (genetics, health, etc). Besides how would you know? If you kept it in a larger tank and it grew to a particular size, it's not like you can reverse time and then place the same snake in a smaller cage and see the size difference.
