to all: Jane's (Jiffypop's) tegus

attentiveear Jun 14, 2003 12:10 PM

Hi everyone! Just got back in from the show here in Mich. and Jane had uno, her albino and adult male blue. She has 2 beauties in her babies and one being the albino! The dad is awesome as well! Trish, my wife, couldn't talk Jane into giving one of her babies up though! LOLOL

And yes, I walked away w/ a baby CH/farmed rasied Godl tegu.
It is only about 1.5-2 mos old and a real sweetie. Hopefully he/she'll stay that way. Brought him home and he already was chowing on SDZ big time! LOL Next is to check for parasites/diseases the nwe are on our way. My plans, as wierd as they may be, is to breed him/her with one of our reds in the future. I have been interested in the outcomes, if at all possible to get them interested in one another.:0)

I'll get pics of the new addition later on........

Thanks for the nice comments, Greg. I do have to make a couple of corrections tho. These Tegus belong to my daughter, Stephanie, and the adult Blue was actually Uno's mom, not dad. The albino was purchased last August in Daytona. Altho I do most of the animal care here for the lizards Steph has raised the albino and Uno in her room. She's done a good job. So many people yesterday were willing to walk away with the albino...we had to keep a good eye on her all the time! LOL

Your little Colombian is a cutie and hopefully will retain the calm attitude. I'm willing to bet, tho, that once he's heated up and well fed you're going to see some changes. Many folks have nice Colombians and I'm sure you'll tame the beast in your new baby.

After you left someone came in with an adult female Blue Tegu for sale. I don't believe it was a het but it was a pretty girl. He's supposed to contact me early this week if she didn't sell....I will get his info for you if you are interested. I think the price will be right since he sold a fairly nice adult Red male for $120!!!

Oops, Thanks for clarifying my goofs on Steph's little ones!!! LOL. I saw the female blue as we were walking out. She was a pretty. I asked the guy what sex and he said "male, but he doesn't have the spurs." LOL I said what? So I grab her and she definitely was a female. He was aksing $250 or siad make him an offer. The red male looked great too Jane.........were you the one who purchased him??? :0)

Thanks for getting his info for me Jane! Would it happen to be
Healthy Herps by chance?

Take care!!!

Greg, it wasn't me that purchased the Red male. He was nice but still not what I want to breed to Pyrus. The gentleman that had the Tegus for sale, as far as I know, has never been a vendor at the show. I do see him there almost every month...usually just chatting with the vendors and such. I'm sure he would have entertained a substantially lower offer on that Blue by the end of the day.

Thanks Jane! Just let me know who he was and contact info once you receive it. And/or perhaps the status of yours?

Take care Jane and thanks again!!!
