Another Question

TNTBODYWORKS Apr 17, 2004 02:35 PM

The egg is still here- doesn't look good though. We were using a home-made incubator and think there was a problem with it, so we bought a Hova-bator incubator. Couple of questions- does the height of the container the eggs are in make a difference. We were worried about the heating coil being to close to the container. We have 2 more eggs that look good so far-how long should we keep the other eggs before giving up? If the eggs went bad because of too much humidity, is ther anything we can do-they already about 45 days old. Brown-very soft-can see pips inside, but cannot see movement. The slit that was in the one egg is gone, but egg is dented in on that side.

Thanks,
Janet

Now we can't get the humidity past 75% on this incubator. What are we doing wrong???????????

Are you putting the eggs in a container to incubate them? I recomend checking out alby's site(it's above) and look at the how to incubate page.

Yes, we have the eggs in containers with lids on them-but the humidity in the incubator is reading around 72%

you don't really need to worry about the humidity in the incubator just the humidity in the container.

How are you measuring humid. in the incubator, if it is with a probe, just stick the probe in the little container.
