GTP-neonates not eating

tegumon Apr 17, 2004 03:45 PM

I know this is not a new question, but I have some US CBB neonates, that have not eaten since I have rec'd them, I have purchased the Complete Chondro book, tried live and f/t pinkies they won't strike at the food or eat, using hemostats the same way the person whom raised them did, and tips in the book Any help would be appreciated, I have not split brain them yet. The last time the fed was 03-15-04, born on 02-16-04. Had them in my care since 03-23-04. currently temps at 86 f. I feed at night. have left pinkies overnight in delis etc. ( I now have them together as suggested because they were raised that way initially. ) In a sterilite as shown in pic. or

Any experienced GTP keepers have any input from their arsenal of personal experience that would work.

Have they eaten at all for you? Are you sure they are CBB? Any legitimate chondro BREEDER would not let go of babies that soon after hatching.......unless that was the deal. I would not consider a one month old chondro an established feeder even if it fed every 5 days.......but that's just me. Also, 86* seems a little warm to me. Try lowering the temps to 82 and see what happens. Also, seperating them would be in your best interest, and will be easier to see what kind of personalities each baby has. I would contact the breeder (or dealer) you got them from, and let him know the situation. If all else fails, go out and catch some baby spring peepers. It did the trick for one of my little ones last year. Good luck and let us know how everything turns out.

I love biaks but keep myself from buying some more because I want something like you have! I'll never be happy till I have a killer high yellow biak pair of my own. It's just not fair! I'll probably be picking up 1.1 biaks at daytona.

John, you think like me. That's why I only have one biak, and it's a male. I'm pretty happy with him though. I'm the same way with Arus.......that's why I don't have any of them.lol. I need to get a few biaks and raise them up, but that's not going to happen for a while. Oh well.

thanks
Brandon
