Feeding techniques

muirsean Apr 17, 2004 05:46 PM

Just wondering what techniques everyone is using to feed their tegus? Do you use a bowl, tongs, just toss it in, what is your method? Also, when do you normally feed your tegu? Mine seems to like being fed in the morning. Any input would be great,
Thanks.

Depends what I'm feeding, crickets I just throw in, about a dozen at a time. Everything else I have a bowl I'm hoping he realizes is what to eat out of. The bowl I think is the best so as not to bite your hand thinking it's a mouse. Mine is only about 18 in.

i feed my tegu his bannana and turkey mixed with calcium and vitamins in a bowl and i made a hole in the side of the cage at the opposite side of the door so he doesnt mistake the door opening for food he gets his mice through the hole 4 times a week

Right now, my tegu gets mostly Rat pups.

Feeding is simple. I take him out of the cage, put him on the ground, and toss the rat pup in front of him.
