Aspen bedding??

smith710 Apr 17, 2004 05:52 PM

I just wanted a few more opinions on aspen bedding? I am using repti bark right now but I have a 90 gallon tank so its alot of money every time I need it. You can wash it but that is a pain. What do you think of using aspen bedding for a couple of columbian red tails? Would it be a good thing to use or is there any problems with using it? Would it look ok in the tank? Any suggestions at all about aspen bedding please tell. If anybody doesn't know what aspen bedding is, it's like yellow little wood chips that you would usually use for rabbits or hampsters or mice or little animals. Well any opinions please tell.
Thank You

Aspen bedding is ok, I use newspaper myself but it is not very attractive for your cage. I have 40 snakes I keep and the newspaper is quick clean and easy. Cypress Mulch also is a good bedding that I have used before, but it may have insects in it.
Good Luck

Aspen bedding is fine. Its what I used in the past, but I do recommend putting paper over it when you go to feed. Just to be safe that your boa doesnt ingest any of the wood chips.
