What about this combanation?

What would a normal and a leucistic baby look like if breed together. Would half be leucistic and the other half normal? Or do the normal genes dominate and produce hets as well?

If I were to breed both hets together, would I produce 50% normal and 50% leucistic?

I only ask because I have 1 albino, 1 leucistic, and one tangerine that I am trying to breed. I breed many snakes and this is my first crack at lizards.

I would like to buy alot more in the future. They have such a sweet disposition, and kids really seem to love them.

Thanks
Jason Mc

From what I understand. If you cross a Leucistic (patternless) with a Normal, you'll get ALL normal babies who have the gene for patternless.

This site might help - www.geckogenetics.com/

any recessive trait when crossed with a normal or with a different recessive trait will give you normals het for the recessive trait(s). However...if you cross a normal with a dominant or line-bred trait you'll get different results. So far as I've heard...some hypo lines are dominant...so if you crossed a normal with a dominant hypo you would get hypos. If you crossed a normal with a linebred leo like a tangerine or a snow...you'll most likely get a whole range in between the two parents' colors/patterns (probably more towards the normal parent though).

-ignorance is not to be punished when one is trying to gain knowledge...what scares me is the vast number of people who, when given the information to gain knowledge, choose to ignore it.

LoL
Just when I think I understand something about genetics, I realize I dont understand it much at all. I guess what it all comes down to is understanding which genes are recessive and which are donimant. Thanks for the help.
