finishing touches...uv light????

just about finished my viv...been at it all bloody night..just uv light to go in...so heres my question if someone could answer asap as its 1 am and im all vivariumed out...does uv have to go on heated end of tank?????if i put on heated end of tank i have to put on back of viv and the rays will just hit the side of beardys...but i can put it on roof at colder end and its perfect height etc....and yes it is over half length of viv..just if i put it at cold end they can get real close to it...(obviously not touching close)....if someone with good experience could answer this i can slot my glass and its job done..at last..i breed yellow labradors...have a caiman..2 ferrets..red tail hawk..parrot..and there by far the most troublesome...but hey there worth it arent they????thanks again to those who have helped...(you know who you are)

The UV does not have to go on the same side as the heat. I usually put mine there because that's where they spend most of their time. Make sure you give them an area to bask so they can get within six inches of the UV bulb.

mike thats the nicest beardt ive ever seen..i never knew you could get them in such a diffrent colour...did you do alot of breeding to get that????or you just buy...i do alot of special breeding in my labradors for good hips,eyes,bones etc..but that must take alot to get such pretty dragons...pity you werent in uk..i would love that...excellent..i have saved it to show my mates..we all just got beardys as i said...my mates has like a golden colour down its back and we thought that was awsome..good job ...also yes i can get it to six inches at cool end...and can get it to six inches hot end but as i said the rays will be hitting there side...is that ok...thanks....(i cant beleive that beardy its sooo coool...i got to get one..lol

Well I can't take the credit for the work behind her. She was produced by Sandfire Dragon Ranch. They were one of the original dragon breeders here in the states. I am looking forward to the babies though. As far as the Vivarium goes your setup sounds good. Having the heat that close shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you're not melting the fixture.
