how long do pesticides and other lawn treatemnts last?

herpluver Apr 17, 2004 07:18 PM

we have been in out house for over a year and never treated the lawn with anything, just want to know how long to wait incase the previous owner may have treated it? ( although i really don't think it has been) and a side question- if i use mirical grow in my garden are my greens safe for the beardys to eat? i mean we eat them, but i'm unsure if it may effect them differantly

You should be fine with both instances. My lawn was treated last spring but not this one. I have fed Dandy's from my lawn without problem. As far as the miracle grow. Just make sure you clean the greens really well just like you would for yourself.

are there any plant that look like dandelions but aren't? and are they dangerous?

Dandelions are pretty easy to determine, at least after the flower has bloomed. Mine like the flower part the best. I pull them with the leaves attached and let the eat them. Soemtimes I'll just feed them the yellow flower and it's stem. I hold the flower in front of them and twist it. Something about the color or the movement but they usually go for it pretty quick. Some of mine won't touch them with a ten foot pole though.
