is it normal for young geckos to have trouble catching crickets. i'm probably just overly concerned but i've got to make sure. she is really quick but when she goes to catch crickets she'll strike at them and miss. I know she eventually catches them all because i just cleaned her cage and found no crickets under the paper. I am also a tad bit concerned about her tummy. when i look at her she seems pretty skinny except at her stomach area which looks kinda round. i can't hold her and can only check her through the gladware container she likes to sleep in when she is pressed against the top edge. if she does happen to have eggs will she start digging. i bought her from a pet store so god knows if she was kept with a male gecko or if i'm just over reacting. thanks for taking your time to read this

Some leos are better hunters than others; as long as your gecko is eating and maintaining her weight I wouldn’t worry. Good luck!

well it is the season,
she may very well be gravid, but if she is full grown I would doubt that she should have trouble catching prey. Try different live feeders, I know the pet stores around my house use mealworms so your gecko might not be adjusted to eating crickets.

crickets are fast little buggers and yes, my younger geckos do have a harder time of catching them. but then again, my older geckos also miss their targets occasionally. if the leo has been used to feeding out of a dish, or was used to eating mealies, then she will be a little out of practice with her hunting skills. but it seems like she is eating so there should be no worries.
if she is gravid, then she will stop eating a few weeks before laying. thats the first signal. the more obvious signs come later, when she will become very sluggish and you may even begin to see eggs develop in her belly. alot of digging is another pretty solid sign of future eggs (although some leos just love to dig).
