Wasting away for romance?

wsmitty Apr 18, 2004 02:36 AM

Help!!! My young patternless male entered mating season with not
alot of weight on him, but he was eating. The last couple weeks he has been getting romantic with his sweetheart everynight. This would not be a bad thing(I guess) except that I think this is all he has been thinking about. He hasn't been eating at all, and is starting to get really skinny. What should I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Seperate him from the female, he is not eating because all he wants to do is mate, if you seperate them, put the male in a place where in no way can he smell the female, and he should start eating and gaining weight again soon,

a coolpix 4500. They are no longer being produced, but you can
still get them on e-bay for around $360.

What's more, if he's been breeding the female for the past few weeks, there's no more need for him to breed with her. Females store sperm, so she should be good to go for the entire breeding season without ever seeing him again.
Pack a whole lot of weight on him, so he can weather the season next year without getting too thin.
