how can i tell if this top soil is ok?

UroJade Apr 18, 2004 03:39 PM

my dad got top soil to fill in a spot in the yard and gave me a bag for the lizards, the only thing it says about whats in it is

"This product is is formulated from organic material(derived from one or more of the following) Peat,Froest Products or compost, sand or native top soil"
does that mean its ok or not ok to use?
if its not that fine my dad will just add it to the yard i guess

peat is dusty I never use this stuff, personaly id leave this dirt to your father, if you wish to collect dirt try taking it near ground hugs borrows. others may give you a good reciepy.
aim still in the learning process.

it doesnt seem dusty at all, is it ok if i play around with it till i get something different is it going to hurt them if they walk on it and lick it?

Peat will become dusty within a few hours in an uromastyx cage. You will see the dust particles rising into the air, these not only clogs the respiratory system but sticks to eyes and cloaca when defecating, and this is why I almost never use peat.
Others seem to have success with it!?!
