Anyone have any kind of idea what the dark brown spots are on some of these eggs?? They were just laid probably about 24-30 hours ago. Also, anyone else have any females lay 6 days after the shed. Thank you

WOW!
I would really hate to say, but to me it looks as if the eggs are going south. I had some eggs last year do that to me, except
they looked different in the respect that they turned 1/2 the egg brown then the other 1/2.
I also had a slight mold problem, but that was taken care of with silvadine. (not sure how to spell it)
I hope every thing is ok for you...
it is just staining from the acids in the moss......
they are TOO wet........
get them into dampened vermiculite not wet...they'll be ok.....

Nothing to add. Jyohe is correct. Even the ones with the color on them should hatch if you react to his advice.

The eggs look fine but are way too wet. You want the moss to be damp but not able to ring out any more water out of it. I can see water sitting on the container of the eggs, the will go bad for sure if they are kept that wet. I am one of the last breeders that use spagnum moss for my eggs, everyone seems to have gone to Vermiculite, but I think the acid in the moss helps keep the Mold down in the eggs. I have been using it for year with success in my egg laying snakes.
Dry out the substrate, keep the eggs at room temps and they will be fine.
good Luck

I use the moss over the top of the eggs, with the vermiculite as a substrate. I like it because I can spray it directly and the water doesn't hit the eggs directly. I agree with Hoppy that the Ph of the moss seems to retard fungal/bacterial growth. I'm with you Hoppy.
