should i change my lizards lighting?

kyle1414 Apr 18, 2004 07:28 PM

my curly tails they have a 11-13 hour lighting schedule. when i turn their light on around 7-9 (depends if its a weekend) they jump out of the substrate but then go it around noon to five meaning there only out around 6 hours. Should i leave the light on all the time so they can go out when they please they wake up long before i do and im not sure if there out enough and they dont leave their substrate, they just look so only their heads are visible, until the light is on. Ive had one 4 about 3 months and the other for two.

I keep my jeweld curlytail (which I recently found in my closet after a week of free-roaming) under lights with a light timer. He has a 14 hour photoperiod. The lights flip on at 7 and turn off at 9. He takes as long as two hours to wake up, but usually no more than 15 minutes to disappear into the substrate.
