Plants high in calcium oxalate crystals, other than pothos, in Prehensile-Tailed Skink enclosures

Hi,
I was wondering if it is okay to have plants high in calcium oxalate crystals in a PTS enclosure, is it? I am paricularly interested in putting Monstera plants in with my skink. I have seen a couple web sites for edible plants for iguanas, and what they specifically said about Monstera was "known to be safe for prehensile-tailed skinks". Is this true? I would like to plant Monstera in with my skink, but the symptoms kind of scare me a bit. The symptoms are oral irritation, intense burning and irritation of the mouth, lips, tongue, excessive drooling, vomiting, difficulty in swallowing. The sites said that this only happens if the plant is eaten in large quantities. Would it be okay to put some Monstera plants in with my skink, or would it be too much of a risk? I am interested in the vine form of Monstera as well as the shrubby form. Josh

Monstera shouldn't be a problem for PTS. New leaves of Monstera deliciosa (AKA Swiss Cheese Plant or Split-Leaf Philodendron) are apparently part of the diet of wild skinks. Other plants that you might try to find are: Scindapsus, Epipremnum pinnatum (Pothos) and Piper spp. (especially Piper aduncum, P. wichmanii or P. methysticum). All of these occur in the Solomons and have been reported as food for PTS.
