New leo's eye looks funny.....

SpikeNSquirt Apr 18, 2004 08:31 PM

Hey everybody,

We just purchased a jungle juvinile from a local pet shop yesterday. I thought I had looked it over pretty good, but upon closer inspection tonight it's left eye looks larger than the right one. it looks clear, but a little bug eyed. Any idea what it could be? Also I have fed him small mealies which he eats and promtly reguritates. (five of them last night one today) I am starting to think I may have adopted a sick lizard.....
I know of a local vet who deals in reptiles I think I might be making a visit to tomorrow night.

Any suggestions on the eye or the puking would be helpful.
Thanks
Tony

At some point I think there was a discussion about some genetic condition where one or both of the eyes are enlarged...and I think it led to blindness and was possibly related to early death...I could be WAY off....but that's what I rememeber. Anyway, I would recommend going back to the petstore and telling them that it's sick and see if they'll do anything about it...some petstores will.

Whoa talk about bad luck, I sure hope not. Anyway the pet shop has no garuantee on reptiles. I now remember the sign that I convienently ignored in my bliss of finding a jungle at a good price......buyer beware. What I will most likely pay in vet bills would have bought me a nice healthy one online including shipping. Oh well my fault, hopefully the little guy will be ok.
