My one year old to today's date, 4/18, recnetly has burried under the cave i use as the basking spot. hes very active but sometimes during the day hell go under that rock and sleep for a while and eats fine and evertyhing but im worried cause i think it gets very hot under there. i also have another hidaway i just made for him on the cool side that he can dig under, but he has not found it yet. also, how many mealworms can i feed him per day?
they are medium size, how many though is a good amount?

Use a digital thermometer with a probe and get the temp. Under 115 is fine. He probably knows whats best for himself.

Mealies and supers are hard to digest even for large adults. I dont feed more than 5 at a time to adults and no more than once a week. Some good alternatives are silkies and roaches. They are easily digested and can be fed regularly even to small BDs.
