I just don't know what to do...

pinky69 Apr 18, 2004 08:44 PM

It's been more than a month now since Mango ate anything...she's not looking to good, spends most of her time in her humid hide and is really lethargic. She just wants to sleep. I was trying Jump Start, but she just didn't want to open up and I think it's just to stressful for her trying to "pry" her mouth open, so I've stopped. I can't get a fecal sample from her with no intake, so there won't be a fecal float done. I have no idea what I can do for her, apparently all the babies from her clutch have died, but who knows of what being that they were kept in really sad enclosures at the petstore. I think she's going to die, but we're still hoping for a turn around. I don't know what else I can do for her....

sounds like the only way you can save her is by taking her to the vet.

I've phoned every vet in town, even our usual vet. But I did find one that would do a fecal, but Mango hasn't eaten in so long that I can't get a sample from her. It's really frustrating

u can order parazap that gets rid of parasites, at parazap.com
i use it for my leo, and she was exactly the same way. but she stil hasnt eaten yet but she is really really active now. i have been giving it to her for about 2 weeks and itd working. if she doesnt take it then all u have to do is get a eye dropper and feel it with the parazap and keep rubbig the dropper up against the side of her mouth, then shell try to bite it and u just squirt it in. hope this helps

I'll try that...but I'm not sure about getting her to take it. I have to do that with the Jump Start and she does not open her mouth! She did once and spit it out. Thanks.

perhaps you could try mixing parazap and some t-rex sanfire icb dust...which is technically a fully balanced diet. instead of force feeding just put drops on the tip of her nose and she should lick it off.

-ignorance is not to be punished when one is trying to gain knowledge...what scares me is the vast number of people who, when given the information to gain knowledge, choose to ignore it.

Well, I got some Parazap from a friend, diluted it with her water (which has electrolyte drops in it and vits.) and put drops on her nose, but she won't lick them off, she just shakes her head. She's really bad today, not doing anything at all, won't even open her eyes
