Mealworms do not lay eggs. The darkling beetles do. You have to wait for the mealworms to pupate into the alien looking things and then into beetles for you to start reproducing.

Go to my website, I have a care sheet on how to breed mealworms. Its really easy once you get the hang of it.

Ok, so I don’t really know if that’s true, but it sounded funny to me. I’ve wondered the same thing myself about visually sexing beetles, but came to the conclusion that it doesn’t really matter what sex they are when you have more than a few beetles. And yes, they will lay eggs in the substrate, oatmeal or whatever you are using. Good luck!

Gonzo is the name of my leo and I thought it was kind of funny.
