no one knows for sure since the last true togian island study on v. s. togianus was over 100 years ago. from what i understand, sulawesi waters have exceeded 6 feet so its very possible. i have a pic of a definite adult togianus over 5 feet. -john

Hi John,

Dr. Supatratna did a field survey in 1999 - but I have yet been able to contact him and get a copy - he is one of those fellows that is extremely hard to track down....and remember that huge salvator skin we saw at Smithsonian rolled up in a jar? That was a big one!
cheers,
mbayless
