WC white lips can be extremely difficult to acclimate to the point of breeding in captivity. Most don't.

That snake, unfortunately, died from medical complications.

and if so, is there a way to somehow save the sperm from rare, one of a kind snakes. I mean, if it is a snake that could potentially bring in money or save a species from extinction, isn't there a way to salvage the sperm for future in vitro fertilization attempts with females?

Its late and maybe I'm crazy for thinking its possible but I watched a program about tigers (i think? it was tigers) where they tranq'd them and did blood tests and took sperm samples for attempting to salvage any possibility of a larger gene pool.
