Beardie movie stars!(Holes move)

*if this was already posted sorry...*

i was over my GF's mother's house recently and she was watching a movie called "Holes" well without getting into the plot of the movie. towards the end of the movie they have a scene with "killer lizards" and they i'm pretty sure are beardie dragons in some scenes. they have frilled dragons also in there. but it was hard to tell.

they had one part where there's about a dozen of lizards on a couple people and it shows then puff up like a beardie and then put the (dont' know what it's called sorry) the huge "mane" on the frilled dragon... but then it shows them in a diffrent scene biting someone and i guess they are venomous. i'm sure it was alot to do with being a movie and for drama, but i do believe that beardies were used in most of the scenes.

over all the movie was pretty intresting i though. didn't get to see the entire movie. i think i'll go rent it and watch the whole thing.haha

It's worth seeing, but I personally think that it gives beardies a bad reputation that they certainly do not deserve. Anybody that was already scared of lizards just had their fears confirmed. Movies tend to do that to the real world.
Have you seen the movie "Silent Predators"? It's suppose to be about western diamondback rattlers, but much of the film was shot using a beautiful boa. Anyone with even a little experience with snakes could tell the difference. My kids laughed at the obvious pattern & color differences.

yes it did give a bad rap to beardies. i had to sit there and explain for 10 minutes to my GF's mom who yes they are the ones we have and no they aren't aggressive.

although the movie did give me intrest in getting a frilled dragon. reading up on them now.

You'll like the frilled dragons. I have a pair of them & my female is currently gravid. I'm expecting her first clutch any time now. I've had them for almost 3 years and this is my first time breeding them.

was pretty good.

yes, they are beardies and yes it does show them as terrible "yellow spoted lizards" that are poisonous and will kill you if bitten...the funny part though is that when they're in the hole at the end with the beardies all over them the beardie on his shoulder starts to curl up and nuzzle his neck like it's going to sleep there like most beardies do.....it was really funny cuz i had my male beardie out on my shoulder at the time and he was doing the same thing.

anywaz, it is a good movie, but the book was better.

Ya, i've seen that movie,, actually I have young kids so i own the movie and once i got a bearded dragon (in nov. ) i thought,,hmmm, i've seen these before so we got out the movie and, yup, there they are. The YELLOW SPOTTED LIZARD in the movie. Actually alot of scenes are computer enhanced images that combine the beardie and frilled and get a look at those fangs!!! HAHAHA But still kinda cool to see them used like that,,, i haven't checked to see if there are any 'making of the movie' special features but i should check it and see if they show the kids with the lizards.

The dragons used in the movie are all from Sandfire Dragon Ranch. They were all bearded dragons. When they looked like frilleds was all computer generated effects.
