TOKAY GECKO SETUP, NEED ASSISTANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, here is what I am trying to achieve and how I'm doing it. I want anyone to post any information or help in designing this cage.

Temp: 90 in basking spot, 76 on cage floor
Humidity: between 75-85%
Enclosure: 24x18x36"

I have about 3-4 inches of Terra-Lite lining the bottom, with a piece of fiberglass screen on top of that. For a background, I have 3 sides covered in coconut fiber husk, this is where I have a problem. I can't seem to keep moisture in this. I have it in the tank as to where it is touching the substrate divider, thinking this would cause water to creep up the background thus keeping it moist. Does this take a long time to occur? For substrate I am using a 4:1 mix of CoCo bedding and tree fern fiber. I have an assortment of about 13 plants I want to put in there but not until I'm sure that the background is moist since a few are epiphytes.

hi! i hope this helps...
i keep humidity up by misting and also have a bowl of water that is aerated using an aquarium air pump and an airstone.
this also helps the gecko realise that there's a bowl of water there for it to drink.
cheers!
