Was just curious as to how its doing. It was a female right ?, are you going to breed it back to the dh father ?. It seems you might be getting closer to trying to make estimates as to what color phase of snows you can produce. Just wanted to know how thats comming along.

Hi Jeff,

Unfortunately she's the only obese hondo i've ever seen--came to me that way, fat pads & all--and failed to produce last year. This year I'm trying to breed her X a 3-color snow (pink, white and yellow) instead of my other snow male (pink & white)--obviously, i want to perpetuate the yellow in her. But as i say, unfortunately--she's not bred yet. She just had her 2nd shed two days ago, so there's still hope, though 90% of my hondo females have already finished breeding. And just to complicate things, the male i have shceduled for her went into shed about the time she shed, so i'm gonna wait til he sheds to try them again. I don't give it better than a 50-50 chance, though i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

she finally copulated today, five days after her second shed, 74 days after being warmed. She's not bred well in the past, so i'm not counting on things yet, but this is definitely a good step forward.

It was a high sperm count copulation.
