im told its a columbian boa...its kinda dark in color...grayish all over and a pink stomach and a brownish tail. will it lighten or darken more as it gets older? what should i expect? thanks.

Can you show us a picture? It sounds like a Central American to me...but without seeing a picture, it's hard to tell.
