Kink and breeding?

Amanda E Jun 14, 2003 04:59 PM

Hi all.

I bought a corn for the sole purpose of breeding her to my 2001 male.

Well, I just found what feels like a possible kink about an inch or so above her vent.

I can't see it just by looking at her. I can only feel a slight bump if I gently squeeze the area while she passes through my fingers.

Could this be a problem for her concerning breeding? I don't really want to risk her life by breeding her if it would prove fatal (ie. egg binding), but like I said I did buy her for the sole purpose of breeding her.

Can anyone who has knowledge of these such things enlighten me?

If it is a kink i could see where it may block the passing of eggs, I wouldnt breed a snake with a kink to anything,it could be a genetic defect that could be passed on...Hope for you that it is not a kink though, goodluck.

It probably will not effect the snake in breeding. It could be caused by a genetic malfuction, injury, high incubation temp. and maybe some other things. You have to ask yourself the question do you want to take the chance of passing this on if it's genetic. If you just bought it, I'd contact the dealer and see if you can get it replaced.
