In the spring and summer months I like to supplement my cycluras diet with things grown around the house. Some of these items might be overlooked by newer owners. My kids like helping me gather things outside to feed our igs. It's an easy way to get them out and away from sony/nintendo and spend time together.
Now I'm by all means not an expert. In fact, even after reading and reading some more for over a year before getting my first cyclura, I am still asking those stupid questions that most people would be embarassed to admit to even after 5yrs. So if anyone wants to add to this list, or rip on ot all together, please feel free. Thats what we come here for anyway!LOL So here we go, these items are what I've found to to be tasty to my cyclura.
Dandelions- flowers& greens
Rose pettals
Honeysuckle- a favorite
Fresh Miny
Sassafras leaves
Sweet Clover
Hibiscus- I let the wife pick this one so I don't get accused of
pirating her garden.
I know it's not a long list, so please feel free to add to it! And please note to anyone new who want to use items like these, I always make sure to choose plants without fertilizer and/or pesticides used on them. And just to be on the safe side, I wash everything before feeding it to my guys. Other than that have fun with it. It's always good to add those unexpected treats to a cycluras diet.
Take Care,
John
