GTP feeding question

rynwilliams Apr 20, 2004 03:03 AM

I recently got my first GTP a week and a half ago (year old sorong x biak). i fed it for the first time on sunday night about an hour after the lights went out (9PM). It didnt take the food first go i have to wiggle it in front of it for a while and touch its tail (i was told this gets it annoyed and so it will strike the food). It eventually did take the food and it constricted it, but it held it in this position for about half hour, is this normal? is there any other way people know on how to get GTP interested in the food? I did heat the fuzzy up under some hot water before feeding it as i know this normally helps with my ATB.

Ryan,

this behavior is completely normal. All chondros eat their own way. I have some that will start eating after about a minute, and some that will hold the rat for an hour....not all the time, but sometimes. As long as your chondro is eating for you, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep doing what you're doing. Anyone with more than a few chondros will tell you the same. We all have some that just don't eat like others and you have to irritate them a little. That's just part of chondros.

Take care
