Nice looking boa with pretty colors. Very well could be some sort of Hypo whether or not it is genetic you will have to prove out, but I would keep her/him to see. The browns are reds, reptiles use the same pigment cells to make browns as they do reds so yes your snake has red pigment, but the black is most definatly reduced,
Nice critter....

yeah, tom, i've always thought that something was wrong and that's why i haven't sold it......wouldn't want to screw up someone else's gene pool !......she came from a litter of 37....only one other like her in the litter....i kept both and 2 others, one normal looking and one that black replaces the brown on the one pictured......this was a litter fathered by one of my best breeders, "Uncle Buck", which i lost this winter....from old age (i hope)...he was 10 ft. & 60 lbs. ....not sure how old but he was 9 ft. when i got him 4 years ago.....i had him breeding with a Type II anery female when i lost him.....she is expecting a litter in late june.....keeping my fingers crossed...bred her last year to buck but he was so much bigger than her i guess i got nervous that he would hurt her, being on top all the time, that i took him out too early and she delivered 26 slugs !.....oh, well....
