Is it a mud or musk? You title says musk, topic says mud. Their care can be quite different. Do you know what kind of turtle is it? Can you get pictures?

When they are that small I just kept them in a small rubber maid container with just enough water to cover their shell. I fed them every other day with reptomin, chopped minnows or gambusia and small worms. As they grew a little bit then I put them in a 10 or 12 gallon tank with an under gravel filter. Make sure you have a lot of plants or sticks so they can get a foot hold to get air. I fed them in another container to keep the tank cleaner. IMHO mud and musks can be kept the same as long as they can easily get to the top to get air.
Good luck.
