Finally Pictures of my Dragon

LdyPayne Jun 14, 2003 06:48 PM

Hey all:

I finally scanned and uploaded some pictures of Splatt. Couple of pictures are when I first got him at about 3 months old, and the others are about 5 months old. I have some newer ones but not developed yet. Will post those when I get them. Enjoy!

This one is after Splatt had a bath and managed to jump out. This is where he wound up (thought I lost him LOL checked under the couch and everything before I spotted him)

Splatt on his log...probably the first few weeks after I got him.

I took this not long after having Splatt out in the sun for the first time...

(sorry for the multi post...forgot how to do multi images in a post...but this is the last one).

Found him dangling happily at the end of his basking log, supported just by his front legs and gut.

I havent' seen any pics of dragons with the parallel stripes running along the spine..is it really rare to have them?

CheriS Jun 15, 2003 12:54 PM

when breed they do not produce stripe babies, but normal partern ones. Below is a picture of one we have. Connie and Keith from Leaping Lizards also has a set of parents that produce a lot of strips, but neither parent is stripe and they have tried to breed the offsping that are striped, but get none that are.

very nice dragon

Sounds like stripes are a random thing and not something that can breed true...certainly don't have the money to work on making it breed true....so Splat may not get a mate LOL....at least not in the first year or two of his life..then again I could get a female now...by the time she is old enough I should be much better placed to handle 30 babies or more to give away and all that...decisions decisions...

parent that I have never seen before. You know the white ring bands that are around the babies tails, he has them that go all the way up to the neck and all the way across the back to the sides.....never seen that in any babies before, it would be interesting to see if it remains there when adults
