Cricket Free?

dragonbirds Apr 20, 2004 12:49 PM

I have Beardies and a Jackson Cham. My Beardies are cricket free. They are on pellets and assorted worms. Can a Jackson also be cricket free? Crickets just smell and are noisy and I would like an alternative. If there is no alternative then I will continue with the crickets.
Thanks in advance for everyones opinions!
Shannon

In all honesty, I don't really care for crickets myself! Other staple foods you can offer:
Silkworms
Roaches (lobster, orange head, hisser nymphs)
Supplemental prey items that you should try as well:
Superworms
Mealworms
Waxworms
Houseflies
Mantids
Notice I'm differentiating between supplemental and staple prey items.
Even if you do not free yourself entirely of crickets, you can still provide a good mix of staple prey items (crix, silkies, roaches).
All of the prey items I mentioned are fairly easy to obtain via E-mail. Check local laws before ordering any, as agriculture restrictions vary from state to state.
