i just ordered a uro and im a little confused as to the procedure used. ive shipped animals several times in the past with no problem. this shipper accepted my paypal payment, informed me they would ship when it cleared.....it cleared, and i still heard nothing about shipment. when i inquired as to whether the payment cleared (i knew it had, about 4-5 days before that) i got an email simply stating that the uro had been shipped and was on its way to me, would be here today. now, my question is, how did they know my address to ship to? phone number? whether i would be home today to receive, or even in town? and the biggest question is, WHERE IS THE URO???? does this sound a little screwy to anybody else?

where did you order it from? Sorry to say, and I hope that I am wrong, but it sounds like you got scammed. If it isn't a scam then you are most certainly dealing with an amatuer cause no one that knows what they are doing would just ship you a Uro without knowing if you're gonna be home or not. Good luck - hope it wasn't too much money

If you ordered from Paypal, you have to have a shipping address to ship to, so they may have gotten it from that. Also, if he told you when it was shipped, I'm guessing he expected you were ready to receive it and would be around for it.

The address on my paypal account is unconfirmed, its the address of one of my local offices, and it says that clearly on the account. IF it was shipped, it didn't arrive there today. I guess I thought standard procedure was that I'd send payment, and when it cleared, they'd let me know that it had, get my address and phone, and assure that someone would be there to receive it, and of course, shipping method and tracking numbers are oh, so appreciated! I guess at this point I'm just hoping that if it was shipped yesterday - since it didnt make it here - that it's not somewhere in a cold truck or dock. No answers to my emails. We'll see!

Finally got ahold of the shipper! Yes, he did ship day before yesterday, but used the post office and it's second-day delivery to where I live. So I suppose the uro is somewhere on a dock since Monday and I'm really hoping he shows up here sometime today and hasn't gotten too cold - our nights can get pretty chilly. Really irresponsible handling of everything, tho....I had a tortoise sent from Riparian Farms and he called me, talked for awhile about care and shipment, told me the exact day he was shipping, sent a tracking number and checked to make sure it had arrived. He shipped by UPS with guaranteed overnight delivery, charge of $30....I was charged $30 shipping for the uro, too, but it costs less than $20 to ship USPS. So the bottom line is, he made some bucks at the expense of the animal, lost a customer, and once again proves that there are too many animal breeders/dealers out there who are in it for the money, not the animals.
