YELLOW COOKS TREE BOA PICS INFO

SouthFLBoa Apr 20, 2004 04:08 PM

Anyone have pics of their "True" Cooks tree boa. Also, can anyone give me some advice on keeping these snakes? I know they are usually agressive, but that's about it. I'm picking up one up tommarow that's about 10 inches long so I would appreciate advice.
Thanks in advance

Cooks tree boas are the same care as a normal amazon just a little more rare. try and look up some true cooks pics on the net (i dont have any)..I was looking at an import cooks and it looked just like a normal grey garden phase to me but it was pretty. Nasty as all get out. a ten inch snake will be more than happy in a 20 gallon for a while. Keep humidity high like any other tropical snake 80% give or take a little...there are some really good posts in here already for the setups and conditions. i like to use an undertank heater with a bowl over it to increase humidity a little and then use any kind of light to view them (even a flourecent will add a touch of heatwhich is ok since the undertank it your main source. these snakes will go to the ground unlike etbs so its ok. mine go to all sides to climb and occasionally hide and go on the ground for heat. Easy snake to keep just have fun with the bites : ) good luck..hope this message was a little help.

The taxonomy of these animals has changed a few times in the past few decades and by current standards I doubt anyone can post a pic of a "True" cooks from their collection. Check out the many amazon/hortulanus care sheets on the web because their husbandry requirements are the same either way.
