Alright i just ordered one bearded dragon male (one more coming). Well this one, as showed in pictures, had bright orange all over head and reddish body. I paid 200 for him. When i got him today, he is not what i expected at all. He is SUPER FIESTY, wont let me hold him or eat out of my hand (of course, needs adjusting). He is 7 months. I bought him for breeding purposes. His color is not what was expected either. He only has a little orange on the ear and around the eye and a little yellow/orange on the beard. I am in a slough here because i dont know what to do. I am not allowed to get another because no cage room left ANYWhere, and we need another male for breeding purposes, and we were looking for a more high colored male. I personally dont like him at all, and although i am willing to give him a chance i just dont think he even has the color genes. He is more of a normal. Anyone here?!

If you just got him today, give him some time. Dragon color has as much to do with mood as anything, what kind of mood would you be in if you were stuffed in a box and shipped across the country? Let him settle in for a week or two and then re-evaluate the situation.

yeah i kind of just jumped to a conclusion there...but its just like i dont know. Hes really mean. Any suggestions? wont touch any food let alone handfeeding, and wont let me or anything that looks to be touching me near him. He is spawn of satan himself.

He's probably really scared and confused. Give him a couple days alone to get used to his new surroundings and then try again. Nothing he is doing is uncommon for a freshly shipped in dragon. Be sure to offer food and water, but don't be surprised if he doesn't touch it for a few days. Might want to get ahold of the person you bought him from and ask if there were any previous problems and if there is anything that he really likes like treats and offer some of them. All in all I still believe most sellers are honest people so give him a chance and some time.

Leave him alone!
Let him settle in for a few days before you try anything with him and that includes hand feeding him. His color could be due to many things... temps, lighting, mood, health, shedding, etc.

I bet within a week you will see that he is not as "mean" as your saying now and will probably have MUCh better coloration
