Is this REALLy and ATB

eunectes4 Apr 20, 2004 05:59 PM

I just picked up a very pretty ATB female. I have never seen anything liker her, she has the same pattern and consistant white spots(with that cool fade that makes it look like it really has lights on it)as the garden phase greys but she is this very unique pretty maroon color with some pink and red to it. she can be handled out of the cage with no bites and she took her first pinkie from me with no strike or coil..just opened up and ate it from my hand...her boyfriend she lives with now will only take fuzzy mice live or dead from my hand because he will only strike at my hand and i manage to make him hit the rodent first and he usually ends up just going with it. He will not take live or dead even overnight...it has to be from my hand. I have never seen as ATB with this kind of temper...I got it from a guy whos friend breed them (there were 3 on his table and I barely saw them..they were in little cups with paper towel in them and I saw ATB on a piece of tape. I am glad it took my eye because I was leaving at the time. the other 2 were the grey color and I have no idea how I just found this hiding somewhere...this snake is awesome...she is going to eventually breed with my young cbb male who is yellow orange with no black. I wonder what temper the babies with be?

deffinatly a nice snake. I prefer the yellows myself but hey to each his own. and about the snake being not aggressive, when i first got my yellow phase it was as docile as ball. It was like that because it had been under fed and generally poorly cared for befor i got her. Once i got her weight up and in a propper setup it didn't take long for the ATB attitude to come out. But good luck with yours. they are all so cute when they are that age

this is my male and he is lighter than the picture since it is with my cell phone, none of my snakes look as good as they really do.

This forum does seem slow sometimes. I wonder what happened to all the "Corallus" fans? I was impressed recently reading the Chrondro forum Im just not a big fan of pythons (tree). At least not yet, maybe one day. Common people, post, I love reading stories and seeing pics of everyones snakes.

that is a wild looking snake. And to the post above... she did take her last meal from a coil but as far as pulling her out of the cage without a bite..she still looks pretty good about that. I actually purchases her because I want to breed her (in time) with my cbb yellow male who has no black on him at all and he is crazy and got me last night with a nice palm bite. He will only take food it it is from my hand because he wont strike at a rodent even if i leave a live fuzzy in over night..but he will go for me all day so i just make him hit the rodent first and usually he takes it down. my pair look amazing..the yellow is super light with almost no pattern and the red/maroon/pink one has an awesome pattern and they just show the variation among tree boas..i keep them together and it is cute sometimes when they go under the astroturf and curl up together if the tank drops temp. (i have 3 small tape heaters..not hot enough to cause burns even if the snakes touch the glass)

She looks good, love the white/grey highlights along her spine.
