has anyone used eco earth by zoo med as a substrate? it is compressed coconut fiber expandable substrate...is this good for a crestie? thanks, all...

I have no personal experiance with it. I have seen it used in a naturalistic set up before. I dont believe that you would have a problem with it...Go with it and just keep an eye out on it when they eat crix early on

I am a paper towel guy myself, so I am not alot of help.

.....be careful with it, it looks nice & all, but we know how clumsy they can be while eating and it wouldn't take much for them to get a mouthful.

I use it in one of my cresteds cage and I have had no problem with it. Just watch them when they eat.

I used it for a little while in my 10G because it looks good, hold moisture, and I had lots of it. I plan on using slate tile like I use for my leopard gecko in my next tank setup. It looks good, eliminates the fear of impaction, and is easy to maintain. If any of the pros disagree with this, please let me know!
