ok i just came back from the vets. tiny in 81 grams now. he has some problems.....
here they are in all of their glory.

1. hookworms.... not good, yet not my fault. tiny needs to take medicine for 7 days.

2. intestinal parasite. forgot the name of it, need medicine for 3 days, 3 more days in 3 weeks, then 3 more in 6 weeks.

3. irritation and possible yeast infection from mulch. i used to use mulch, i know its bad but now she has carpet. bettadine only for this.

other than that everyone except 2 people in the office liked her/him/it. one technician was kissing it and the vet says u need to wash your hands after every time you hold it..... know u make up an ending.

Well the good news is everything is fixable!

Most iguanas come in with parasites and have them for many years. They are technically wild caught.

Well farmed in mass quantities and then brought into country.

the parasite found in Tiny is called Giardia. Must take meds for 9 weeks in different stages.

Make sure you do a follow-up fecal test for those hookworms after the meds are finished. They can be hard to get rid of and may need a second round of meds.

Thanks, we are going to do that in a month (per the vet). Tiny is so good taking the meds. Ithought it was going to be hard.
